Post #450 Wasn’t Enough

i have, like, sooo many unpost draft here i just completely forgot to write more. i was kinda busy this holiday you know (and right now is already the end of the second week of the second semester *shy mode on!*)

i went shooting for a friend’s short-film, i’m not in it but i helped it ;) click this, it’s the link to the trailer! and click this one for my little project hihihi ;)

well, that’s one of the holiday. second was christmas day. that was biiihhhh-zeeeeee! (i was gonna write busy, but it’s more eyecatching isn’t it? i know i got your attention). new year’s? one word would described it. i got wasted. i think it was productive start-of-the-year-night though, all of us just blabbering about the ups-and-downs of our relationships and gave each other advices and the early 4am tea to ooze the hangover LOL!

well other than that, i was intrigued by this savage chickens comic “beyond the web”

answer these questions for me, will you? i thank you for reading my blog, but also i thank you and kindly ask YOU to GET A MIRROR and ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS TO YOURSELF! i found my answer surprising me but not unexpected.

  1. are you, yes YOU, an internet freak?
    • how many hours a day do you spend online? (gaming, downloading, social networking, youtube, porn *i really don’t judge*, chatting, etc)
    • when was the last time your email(s) inbox(es) wasn’t full of social network notification?
    • when was the last time your paper or homework assignment without any internet help?
    • did you whine and complain when your teacher and lecturer said you have to do your assignment ‘OFFLINE’?
  2. are you, again YOU, a smartphone zombie?
    • how many social network or instant messaging service do you have in your phone and they are on ‘online-mode’?
    • are you checking your phone for instant-messages or social network notification (blackberry messenger and twitter and facebook included!) just now?
    • how many times in an hour do you check your phone for that?
  3. will you read the rest of this post after you answer this?

again, i’m not judging but isn’t what doug savage got it right in his chicken cartoon?

i gotta be honest, i’m a having a long distance relationship. not only with my dearest boyfriend, timothy satyaabieza, but also with my bestfriends so i admit i am one of those smartphone zombies. i’m constantly on my phone, and in my time of need, i chat about it. well, waiting to see ‘em and talk to ‘em in person is a relatively hard option.

with the time differences with abieza, when i want to talk to him sometimes it’s gotta be on the weirdest time of day, in the middle of my class or his, my lunch or his breakfast. i don’t mind and i don’t think he is either. i do feel better when i talk to him like that, but i would feel best if i talk to him personally. *this is just one of the obstacle of LDR*

with my bestfriends, pretty much the same. not to mention with the pending, the low-battery, and all those yada-yada’s.. not all of us can be with each other at the same time even in chatting.

this is the reality – at least my reality *lecturers in my classes always  emphasize on real examples* and how awkward it is when you meet someone new and when there’s this awkward silence, you’d go to your phone – maybe to strike up a conversation topic, or ask the person for social network account – the awkward silence would last longer. whatever happen to good old fashioned conversation? it’s not HUMAN it’s ROBOTIC!

my high school family – yes, they are not friends to me, they are my family – taught me in the beginning of our journey there and also what i taught my juniors about during my time there is that the person standing next to you may not as lucky as you to have a phone. our family taught us of 3C (and from my batch) + one more C. COMPETENCE, COMPASSION, CONSCIENCE + COMMITMENT. well, simply to care about others. not just through charity (in which, i’m sorry to say, right now i’m in the most apathetic environment ever that caring is only through an overly exposed action for charity). use your phone in a necessary amount of time and don’t expose it. don’t overly hide when you’re using it too, that’s exaggerating, but just be subtle. NOT EVERYBODY, EVEN THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU, IS AS LUCKY AS YOU. be compassionate.

technology is as evil as it is helpful. be wise or be damned. be human for that matter!

thank you for reading this, i hope you have pleasant experience and if there’s any comment, feel free to contact me. i do apologize if i offend you, my readers. L.

Post #439 And I Always Will

my current profile picture on facebook (it’s the post #436 exhibit c) brought back a lot of good but hell tiresome memories. even thinking about it makes me tired.

it is the picture of me taken by abyatar’s camera on day 1 of LDK, day 2 for us senior year senators.  we just woke up from a damn cold freezing night *and it’s only 15 minutes drive from my house*

it’s not the LDK memories coming back but the sweet TIRESOME memories of being member of the 2009/2010 senat, 1st secretary :’)

unwanted diet

forced insomnia

class skipper

tension & drama

zero sunlight

well, seems hard work all the times? yes, it’s hard work all the time. but i miss it so much.

first three-four months of senat, never i went home before 4 o’clock * i got home at 8.30ish, and still have work to do, homework, assignments, tests, phone calls* oh and if you take a look at my june 2009 archives, i post a blog a day before my one and only summer vacation (which was only a week) to visit my mother and sister for the secretaries: messages, reminders, formats, contact numbers of me and putri. on that day also, i almost skip class re-registration because of monthly senat meeting was on that day. the next week, right after i landed back safely in jakarta’s soekarno hatta airport, turned on the phone, erc called me to come to school the very next day to go over gonzaga festival 2009 proposal. it was awesome.

one positive awesome side, you got soooo used to reading and editing documents and all other papers you got sick of using copy-paste on assignments! o hell yea, you feel how it’s like to be a teacher (and actually ACTUALLY i’m quoting pak yudi’s word on this; he actually ACTUALLY said this to us when grading MOS tests), you’d learn how to read from the most beautiful and well written handwriting, to the one you have to pass over the answer sheet to all the senators to guess one word, and to the handwriting you know so well because the guy tried every test.

and one other thing i love love so much, because i have to type the notulen for monthly meeting and forum if it’s a senat forum, gonzfest if erc unavailable *done this on a meeting*, mos if chantal or yayi unavailable *done this on the after MOS forum*, I CAN TYPE REALLY REALLY FAST ;) sooooo great for note-taking in class now ;)

we learned politics. not the kind i study now on prof. aleksius jemadu’s class with andrew heywood’s book. similar but we have GREAT BUREAUCRATIC REFORM! bureaucracy in gonzaga is sooooooooo reform and neat and perfectly assembled, people spent days, nee weeks thinking about it (yes, this i’m referring to the after meeting discussion of danu adri cece about the bureaucracy of gonzaga festival 2009, awesome awesome).

being a secretary of senat in gonzaga, ummmhh.. first, you’ll be the person who knows everything because you write everything. you know people’s good and bad side, and what others think about it because you write everything. you know when what’s going on because you write the calendar. you’ll be the most looked for person BEFORE an event, be there during proposal-making, being asked for previous year documents, and being asked for your autograph ;) buuuuuuttt AFTER the event wrapped up, PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE! with just one question, either the secretary or head of event would try to escape your clutches (putri and i find the escape route to be most useful when avoiding danu or pak yudi or pater alis):

LPJ gimana perkembangannya? ini uda h+sekian

during our term, putri and i made a h+14 policy that the accountability report (LPJ) has to be in our hands. the only ones who look for us and not the other way around was MOS with hagi chantal yayi they are the most diligent and according to our secretary bible and punctual and oh i just love them :)

for my dearest erica pricilla tjiadarma oh, her hardwork for gonzaga festival proposal, letters, invitation, everything oh gosh. i’m speechless that she’s still sane enough to be president of yearbook committee. if i were in her position, i’d shot my self in the head. love you so much er. accompanying her all those long days and long nights, she’s doing hers i’m doing mine.

silliest memory was LAPTOPS. in plural. the usual victim were mine, erc’s, ceno’s, and ceces (without the apostrophe, you should be messing with YV crew if you’re to find out about this, he wasn’t around too i think) LOL! mine would be somewhere used to compose and edit some senat or study tour document on one side of the moderator room with the mod computer. erc’s would be on fr. khrisma’s OUR desk (o yea, we seniors own the mod room, not the moderators :p ) working on gonzfest as well as the mod’s other computer and printer. ceno’s would be used to do everything that had to do with  rundowns and however the each second of gonzaga festival would be going on. ceces in other hand, would be used for combination of the previous three with the additional abe wanted to listen to any song, me and erc were too bored to do anything and the mod computers were used by someone else and we (mostly me) would play silly with the touch screen *kill me now*

multi-tasking is one of the benefits. juggling senat, school, social life, boyfriend, friends, other committees (study tour *study tour ate my sanity* and yearbook *this, literally did not sleep for two weeks, probably only an hour, two tops a day. i’ll tell you the secret later* ), and family (by family i mean having dinner with everybody and sleeping not as everybody else were waking up). the most memorable memory of multitasking would be january 28, 2010 one day before timothy satyaabieza’s birthday. on that wonderful 18th birthday of his, lucky me it was also the deadline for the senat LPJ. went home as early as i could, started baking cookies at around 5ish, finished at 9ish, worked on senat’s LPJ until 10 and then rode a bike in the middle of the night to finish the job on snapy (printing place), biked home at 11 slept at 1 in the morning after finished cleaning up and all the rest. in the middle of baking, i had my laptop nearby so that when the cookies on the oven, i’d worked. i was so famished so tired so haven’t-got-much-sleep-all-night, i forgot to mention why the school prayed for timmy that day. i didn’t say it was his birthday on the intercom at the afternoon angelus prayer.

and i’m still confused why we had our breakup after all this fiasco, not during LOL!

actually all those resulted in me getting sick right DURING IN THE MIDDLE OF GONZAGA FESTIVAL 2009 DAY ONE! DAY UNOS! DAY SATU! DAY EEN! don’t really want to talk about it but doctor told me to a month rest, i was naughty so not even two weeks rest i went back to school on three days before gonzaga festival ended. it was all worth it when up on stage, documentating jazz revolution project i saw all of our parents. i saw galih’s brother first right in front of stage, then his mom and dad :) then i saw cece’s mom :) then abe’s mom, not sure if i saw his dad or not :) then to the far left of the stage, near the gonzaga swb sign, putri'’s mom and brother :) they were with my third grade homeroom teacher, the closest thing i ever have to a motherly figure, bu susan :’) oh how mike edwin and i love her so much.

ah i could go on and on and on but i already broke my promise to do my econs final paper so ttylfn! :*

Post #406 Gaudeamus Igitur

Gaudeamus igitur,
Juvenes dum sumus;
Post icundum iuventutem,
Post molestam senectutem
Nos habebit humus.
Let us therefore rejoice,
While we are young;
After our youth,
After a troublesome old age
The ground will hold us.
Vita nostra brevis est,
Brevi finietur;
Venit mors velociter,
Rapit nos atrociter;
Nemini parcetur.
Our life is brief,
It will shortly end;
Death comes quickly,
Cruelly snatches us;
No-one is spared.
Ubi sint qui ante nos
In mundo fuere?
Vadite ad superos,
Transite in inferos
Hos si vis videre.
Where are those who before us
Existed in the world?
You may go up to the gods,
You may cross into the underworld
If you wish to see them.
Vivat academia,
Vivant professores,
Vivat membrum quodlibet,
Vivat membra quaelibet;
Semper sint in flore!
Long live the university,
Long live the teachers,
Long live each male student,
Long live each female student;
May they always flourish!
Vivat et republica
Et qui illam regit.
Vivat nostra civitas,
Maecenatum caritas
Quae nos hic protegit.
Long live the state
And those who rule it.
Long live our city,
And the charity of benefactors
Which protects us here.
Vivant omnes virgines,
Faciles, formosae!
Vivant et mulieres,
Tenerae, amabiles,
Bonae, laboriosae.
Long live all young women,
Easy and beautiful!
Long live wives as well,
Tender, loveable,
Honest, hardworking.
Pereat tristitia,
Pereant osores.
Pereat diabolus,
Quivis antiburschius
Atque irrisores!
Perish sadness,
Perish haters.
Perish the devil,
Whoever is against the student fraternity,
As well those who mock us!
Quis confluxus hodie
Academicorum?
E longinquo convenerunt,
Protinusque successerunt
In commune forum.
Who has gathered now
Of the university?
They gather from long distances,
Immediately joining
Our common forum.
Vivat nostra societas,
Vivant studiosi!
Crescat una veritas,
Floreat fraternitas,
Patriae prosperitas.
Long live our fellowship,
Long live the studious!
May truth and honesty thrive,
Flourish with our fraternity,
And our homeland be prosperous.
Alma Mater floreat,
Quae nos educavit;
Caros et commilitones,
Dissitas in regiones
Sparsos, congregavit.
May our Alma Mater thrive,
That which educated us;
Dear ones and comrades,
Who we let scatter afar,
Let us assemble.

Post #381 Other Than Crazy High School Drama

what does Gonzaga have in common with Glee?

well, our cheerleaders aren’t compared to CHEERIOS and the head cheerleader is not pregnant. truthfully, do we even have a decent cheerleader squad at school?

okay, what Gonzaga have in common with Glee is SLURPEE and BIG GULP. gleeks have slurpee and big gulp thrown to their faces on a regular basis and gonzaga “in crowd” consumes slurpee (and practically the whole 7/11) on a TOO MUCH EXCESSIVE regular basis (for you who don’t understand: too much excessive means way so out-of-line much). and the awful truth (they just too stupid to realize – probably because of the massive sugar amount they have from slurpee and coffee) it’s just a BIG CUP of freaking FROZEN SODA! (again, too stupid to realize, i bet).

yes i do say their coffee is good. (tastes the same with starbucks’ and a regular nescafe with a hint of extra optional sugar – caramel, almond syrup you can also buy in a supermarket then make at home). but spending every morning and after school there? that’s not stupid actually, inefficient.

i am not ever going to apologize for anything i’ve written here. this is a free place where i can point out my opinion FREELY. as hurtful, as judgmental, as bad it may sounds: this is the truth the perpetrator deceiving everybody and everybody else just shove their eyes at a different direction.

for you DEFINITELY AIR-HEADED SNOBS: yes you can taste coffee and slurpee every single morning day and night, but there are EVEN MORE kids and teenager who can’t taste any education you wasted.

i’ve been called a freak, i’m an outcast, i’ve been bullied and, honestly, that happens in my high school. call me a freak, make me an outcast, bully me but take this: YOU ALL WILL WORK FOR ME. and i will not rest and/die before every single children EVERY SINGLE ONE gets the best decent education there is.

because that’s why i punctually working hard at school: to stand up for the people and children who doesn’t have anyone at their side. all they have is silly government with their nice-campaign-promises bullshit crap.

that’s only why i want to be president.

i’ll go one day, as i dreamed, to that orange land. there’s where i really want to go and study. but wherever i will be, i am never going to leave this country. wherever i will be, i swear to fix this country.

i don’t want to dream for myself (anymore) or my grandparents. i want to dream for those who can’t dream. i have the chances and options they don’t, i’m going to make sure they have theirs.

this is why God gave me this, it’s my calling i guess.

Post #377 Let’s Post Something Ridiculous Here

in exactly three weeks (21 days) we high school seniors all over Indonesia is going to face what the government call a “national examination” (i told you i am going to post something ridiculous).

for me and all other social major students it is going to be 6 subjects which are indonesian, english, sociology, geography, math, economy/accounting. for science major students are also six: indonesian, english, biology, math, physics, chemistry.

the only thing still ridiculous in my mind is the GOVERNMENT DOES NOT KNOW THE QUALITY OF THE STUDENTS (wel, all they know is in general speaking not individually). our school knows who we are, not the government. okay, they give the school pointers upon the subjects and what the parameter of what’s what, but the practical matter: the teachers know the students better (at least than the government).

that’s not actually why i think it’s ridiculous, but the mind concept in my fellow friends, students, created by the national examination phenomena. from various opinion i heard from a group of random friends (i never asked for opinion the first place, though) that if they pass the national examination they will be a shoe-in to pass the school examination. now, that is ridiculous.

i heard they say that they are proud to be GONZAGA. but the same people say that the school HAVE TO pass us because it’ll bring up the school rank and that the school is going to do “whatever possible” to do so. they (SHE) believe(s) in that. if that is true: I’D RATHER FAIL IF MY ACHIEVEMENT MANIPULATED FOR SUCH RIDICULOUS REASON AS RANK.

you know what, Gonzaga is a fine establishment (although it is questionable in a “FEW” divisions) and i do believe that they will do no such things. when a student pass/fail it is because purely of his/her effort. not manipulated. it’s hard and sad if one does fail, but through acceptance and hope and perseverance one shall pass.

work hard and play as hard. everything has to be balanced, nothing excessive is good (i heard it’s written in the Bible and Al-Quran).

no great thing is created suddenly

a quote from my grandfather’s favorite mug :)

Post #372 Call Me Old Fashioned…

… but i really think school is for STUDYING. and a student’s goal is to get good grades, good experience, and good education.

i saw somebody’s twitter complaining and being emotional about the average grade for softball players at our school is 75, that is ridiculous. yes, you want to play, but you go to school NOT TO PLAY, to study! you have to balance school and after school activities. what good do you bring to your almamater if you have tons of achievements but failing grades?

RUBBISH!

really, i’m an old-fashioned conservative student. why? because my grandparents work very hard for giving me the most wonderful education possible. my way of appreciating that is to fulfill the only thing they ask: be the absolute best and study hard.

if i do want to add on after school activities for and it has a minimum grade average, i’d worked for it. SO I EARN IT! not easily achieve it.

work hard and earn for what you want!

if you don’t like it, WALK OUT of this fine institution.

in a lot of ways, i am so much disappointed i can’t experience pater sigit’s era as headmaster. he really is a good person with fine vision-mission and point of view of GONZAGA. he’s the one person who can turn around its AWFUL CHARACTERISTIC developing right now.

Post #366 PICTURES!

so long since i updated this blog. please, DO BLAME THE STUPID TRYOUTS AND EXTRA-CLASSES! they’re good but it took too much, we practically have no refreshing. our energy is sucked up in all that major subjects and we have nothing to runaway to. and now, the one and only subject that we get good scores and F*CKING UNDERSTAND about is also being taken away by putting a VERY SUPER ANNOYING BITCHY teacher.

well, rather than complaining about this awful awful routine at school, i’d like to post something great that turn all of that into an enjoyable experience! :D
