Post #377 Let’s Post Something Ridiculous Here

in exactly three weeks (21 days) we high school seniors all over Indonesia is going to face what the government call a “national examination” (i told you i am going to post something ridiculous).

for me and all other social major students it is going to be 6 subjects which are indonesian, english, sociology, geography, math, economy/accounting. for science major students are also six: indonesian, english, biology, math, physics, chemistry.

the only thing still ridiculous in my mind is the GOVERNMENT DOES NOT KNOW THE QUALITY OF THE STUDENTS (wel, all they know is in general speaking not individually). our school knows who we are, not the government. okay, they give the school pointers upon the subjects and what the parameter of what’s what, but the practical matter: the teachers know the students better (at least than the government).

that’s not actually why i think it’s ridiculous, but the mind concept in my fellow friends, students, created by the national examination phenomena. from various opinion i heard from a group of random friends (i never asked for opinion the first place, though) that if they pass the national examination they will be a shoe-in to pass the school examination. now, that is ridiculous.

i heard they say that they are proud to be GONZAGA. but the same people say that the school HAVE TO pass us because it’ll bring up the school rank and that the school is going to do “whatever possible” to do so. they (SHE) believe(s) in that. if that is true: I’D RATHER FAIL IF MY ACHIEVEMENT MANIPULATED FOR SUCH RIDICULOUS REASON AS RANK.

you know what, Gonzaga is a fine establishment (although it is questionable in a “FEW” divisions) and i do believe that they will do no such things. when a student pass/fail it is because purely of his/her effort. not manipulated. it’s hard and sad if one does fail, but through acceptance and hope and perseverance one shall pass.

work hard and play as hard. everything has to be balanced, nothing excessive is good (i heard it’s written in the Bible and Al-Quran).

no great thing is created suddenly
